About Me

Dominique Lorae is an actor, teaching artist, and playwright based out of Kansas City.  Born and raised in Shawnee Kansas Dominique has always had a flair for theatrics being a part of school, church, and personal art productions ranging from dance, choir, and theater.  Dominique is a graduate from KU (2020), with a BA in Theatre Performance. Starting her college experience majoring in Biology, aiming for a zoological specialization she found her way out of the sciences of STEM and into the world of literature and arts. Taking a leap of faith she changed her major to Theatre after the loving and strong pushing of friends and mentors in the department. Dominique was graced with the opportunity to take part in a number of main stage productions that grew her devotion to the craft. She made her professional stage debut in Kansas City with the Coterie in Only One Day a Year (2023). Dominique is also a part of Divas of Camelot, a Kansas based theatrical comedy troupe performing at KC Ren Fest. When not on stage she works as a teaching artist with the Coterie and What If Puppets teaching dramatic art and Social Emotional Learning (SEL).  When not teaching or performing, Dominique enjoys drawing, playing videogames with friends, and doting on her dog Ghost, a typical CWA (Chihuahua With Attitude).

 I am a storyteller whose soul purpose I have made to give and receive the art of emotions in an effort to build connections and community. I live to entertain. My mission is to entertain as many people as possible. I want to make the aura around myself welcoming and nurturing; we can be at our best when growing together.
